The skin around the eye is the thinnest area of skin on your body, and therefore it is the most delicate, which means that the slightest irritation can cause puffiness. Puffiness around the eyes may be caused by a number of factors, including a salty diet, not enough sleep, allergies, aging and fluid retention. There are many ways to reduce the appearance of puffiness around the eyes, and fortunately most can be done at home.
Remedies
Step 1
Place a metal spoon in the freezer for 10 minutes. Remove the spoon and gently place it over a closed eyelid for 1 minute and then place it over the other closed eyelid for 1 minute. Alternate placing the spoon over closed eyelids until the spoon in no longer cold. Repeat steps as needed. You can also place two spoons in the freezer, and use them on both eyelids at the same time.
Step 2
Place two wet tea bags in the freezer for approximately 10 minutes until they are frozen. While the tea bags are chilling, pour 1 tbsp. of olive oil on a small plate. Use a cotton ball to dab it in the olive oil, and wipe the olive oil over your eyelids. Remove the tea bags from the freezer and place them directly on your closed eyelids. Keep them there for 8 to 10 minutes and then wash the oil off your face.
